APRIL UPDATE

Welcome to April’s Newsletter. We are nearing the end of Lent as we approach the celebration of the resurrection!

We have been posting weekly shorts as we remember the days leading up to the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord…

Click the images below to watch them!

April 20th is Easter Sunday! It is the focal point of our faith- that God sent His Son to die the death that each of us deserve, but also that He did not stay on a cross or in a tomb. He is risen, and is seated at the right hand of the Father! This year, let’s make sure that we are engaging with those around us who don’t know the fullness of the good news of the resurrection!

Be sure to invite others to join us for our Easter Service at our normal time of 9:45 . We will be serving a special breakfast at 9, and there will be a photo station set up for people to take family photos! To help you reach out to others, we will have invite cards for you to take with you the week before Easter, and you can also share the event on Facebook!

Before Easter is Passover! The Passover in Exodus is a preview of what Jesus would do for us hundreds of years later. Just as the Angel of Death passed over those marked by the lamb's blood in Egypt, spiritual death passes over those who are in Christ. Join us for a special Passover celebration on April 16th, featuring a free feast and fellowship. YOU MUST REGISTER by Sunday the 13th to attend You can do so at the Connect Center or in the Church Center app by clicking here!

GARAGE SALE FUNDRAISER

Last month missions held a garage sale fundraiser and it was a great success with over $2,200 raised to help pay for upcoming global trips! We are so thankful for the volunteers who made this day possible!

If you find anything you no longer need during your spring cleaning this year, consider holding on to it and donating for the next sale which will be held in a couple months!

OUTREACH TO The HOMELESS IN SPOKANE

“I’ve wanted to do some kind of outreach to the homeless for many years now. For several months I have been working towards my goal of giving away care packages to people in need in Spokane. These packages cost around $50 each to put together, and include various hygiene items, clothing, snacks, and most importantly, the Word of God. My goal is to share the gospel with those that might not have access to it. In each package I will include a bible, a bible verse card, and a hand written note. I just want to help share God’s word and make it more accessible for others so that they can learn about His Word and goodness.” - Josie

If you want to help Josie with her mission, you can give towards this specific project by writing ‘Spokane Mission’ on your giving envelope, or leave a comment if you’re giving online! So far she has raised $600. When the final goal is reached, she will deliver the packages with the help of the Worship Team in Spokane! You can give now by clicking the blue button in the bottom corner of the screen!

Our WC Kids theme for the month is about HOPE!

Jesus endured the most awful pain and suffering that anyone has ever faced. He died on the cross for you and for me. Can you imagine the kind of grit it took to face something like that? But Jesus knew what would happen if He chose to give up. He chose to go through pain because of the joy that was to come—the chance for all who believe in Him to have a right relationship with God. Jesus died for you so that you could live forever with God. Whatever happens, keep looking to Jesus to give us HOPE.

Along with our free breakfasts every Sunday, our coffee shop sells drinks at low prices to cover the cost of the coffee shop.

This month’s specials include the Ocean Surprise Blue Lotus, Coconut Caramel Macchiato, Graceland Latte, and Blue Cherry White Lotus!

You never know when a sermon might last an hour and a half! Stop by the coffee shop before or after service for a wake-up!

Join the church family as we read through the Bible in a Year! We also post paper copies of the month’s readings in our monthly church bulletin.
